Investment News 40 Under 40
Earlier this summer I was included in the Investment News 40 Under 40 class for 2020. It would be an understatement to say I am honored to be included in the group. Not only am I a part of a tremendous group of advisors, investment professionals, and industry leaders in this year’s class, but I join a group of alumni including many of my friends, mentors, and individuals I look up to and greatly respect. I shared some of my initial thoughts over on All About Your Benjamins when the list was announced—you can check that blog post out here.
We frequently discuss finding and living our purpose at RLS Wealth and, for me, being included in the 40 Under 40 list serves as confirmation I’m heading down the right path toward living my purpose.
My Purpose
Being included in lists and receiving accolades is not a part of living my purpose; my purpose centers around making a positive and meaningful impact on everyone I come into contact with. Now, don’t get me wrong, recognition from my peers is extremely meaningful, makes me happy, and is very much appreciated—I’ll take it all day, every day. But, if I manage to make the lives of others better by helping them plan for the life they want for their family, pursue goals and aspirations that might be scary, and be financially responsible while doing so, or inspire and motivate others to take control of their life, challenge the societal norms keeping them boxed in, and make a better life for themselves then I will be living my purpose with or without accolades.
It’s been a journey over the last fifteen years, but most specifically the last five, that has led me to this moment of clarity, this moment of knowing what I am supposed to be pursuing, and this moment of knowing how I am supposed to help my clients. And being a member of the 2020 Class of Investment News 40 Under 40 tells me I’m right where I’m supposed to be, right now, on my journey.
I’m excited to continue down this path and help our clients, and the ones who join us in the future, find their purpose, align their finances, and create a life of fulfillment—all while living my purpose!
